Nick King was born in 1954 in
Arrington, England. His family
soon returned to the U.S. to southern Alabama and then moved to
Northwest Florida in 1959 and he has been a native of this area
since then.
His first, still untitled album, is in production and is set to be released early next year. Production and recording by 771Music in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Nick discovered his love for music and his ability to perform well, at
an early age.
Inspired by his Uncle Harold he learned to play the guitar at the age of 16, and quickly learned that he had natural abilities and his dedication to play the guitar was founded. He prefers a 6-string classical acoustic but can just as easily play a 12-string or an electric guitar. He’s been entertaining for decades. He started the band “Dealer’s Choice” in 1975 with: Rusty Collins on lead guitar, Darwin Turner on bass, Randy Whitaker on drums, and himself, Nick King as lead vocals, rhythm guitar and song writer. They played at a number of local venues and had full time gigs throughout the summer time. ~ Sill’s Little Nashville, The Fantasy Bar, Nero’s Nook, The Scene Lounge, other local bars, and local county fairs. They played on a boat, for a moonlight cruise, for a full summer, out of Destin Florida~ His passion can be felt in his songs “Children of Your Own” and “Grandson” as well as in the many, many other songs he has written and performed for family members and friends throughout the years. His celebrity influences include; James Taylor, Jim Croce, Neil Young, Willie Nelson, Hank Williams Sr. and Johnny Cash. ‘Legionnaires for the Moose Lodge’ copyright….in 80… ‘Children of Your Own’ written in 1996….. legal paper 2009.
